Dying Light: The Beast - Garden Plants

As a Biome Artist on Dying Light: The Beast, I was responsible for creating vegetation assets tailored to specific biomes and regions of the game. My work included prototyping, modeling and texturing vegetation meshes, with a focus on visual cohesion, biome identity and in-game readability.

This presentation showcases some of the garden plants that can be found in the countryside, specifically daylilies, hollyhock and berberis.

Biome concept work was done by https://www.artstation.com/kasia_m and Anna Krzemień

These meshes were a joy to create, especially since I had an opportunity to work off pictures I have taken of daylilies and hollyhock plants. This workflow consisted of creating prototype textures based on the pictures, then bringing them to Zbrush and sculpting on top of them, and later refining everything in Substance Painter. The meshes themselves were created in SpeedTree.
